DESCRIPTION:Social media is a critical part of the digital public sphere and has an impact on most people in the contemporary world. In this era of globalization, it becomes crucial to explore effective models of social media governance. In this regard, Confucianism, as pioneered by Confucius, may have something to offer. Taking China’s microblogging platform Weibo as an object of study, Prof. Wang compares it with Twitter, using the “good governance” model he first proposed in 2000.
