Join us on Wed. 3/13/24, 12:00-1:15 pm KUY 201 + via zoom, as Vilsoni Hereniko (School of Cinematic Arts) shares “Sustainability in Film.” The coconut tree used to be the “tree of life” in all of Oceania. This is still the case for the vast\nmajority of islands that pepper the Pacific Ocean. Why is this no longer the case in Hawai’i? Prof. Hereniko's presentation addresses the space between humans and trees, and how the coconut tree can help mitigate concerns about food security and sustainability in Hawai`i.
