DESCRIPTION:Join us in-person or via Zoom to learn about the Documentation of ethnobotanical knowledge of Abui people, Eastern Indonesia, a special talk by A.L. Blake.\n\n\n\n Abui is an endangered language of the Timor-Alor-Pantar language family. As speakers shift to using local Malay and standard Indonesian, as well as converting land uses, they also lose knowledge of traditional ethnobotanical practices. This project attempts to record some of this ethnobotanical knowledge, for various historical and comparative purposes, as well as for the Abui people themselves to have as a resource.\n\n\n\nMeetings begin at 7 pm with light pupus served afterwards.\n\n\n\n Register here to receive the Zoom link prior to the meeting.\n\n\n
