DESCRIPTION:Res Publica et Theatrum is an interdisciplinary project uniting CLAS 323: Greek & Roman Drama, COMG 151: Personal and Public Speech, and HIST 333: Ancient Rome I — The Republic in a series of events culminating in a day in the Andrews Amphitheatre. Spectators are welcome and everyone may participate in events and try on and pose in the beautiful costumes borrowed from the Department of Theatre and Dance. Extra mask templates will be provided for those wanting to experience masked performance and participants may design and take the masks home as a keepsake. \n\nThe schedule for the December 10, 2025 events is as follows:\n09:30 AM -10:20 AM Rhetorical Events (COMG 151) \n\n12:00 PM - 1:15 PM Roman Republican Combat Spectacle (HIST 333)\n\n1:30 PM - 2:20 Greek & Roman Theater (CLAS 323)\n\nPresented by Kimberly Serratos (PhD student in Philosophy) and her courses CLAS 323, COMG 151, and HIST 333 with generous support from the Elizabeth Spann Award and the Departments of Communicology, History, Philosophy, Religions & Ancient Civilizations, and Theatre & Dance.
