Microsoft Open/Select Price List

APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE

Microsoft products purchased through this program can be made by University of Hawaii Departments ONLY.

The table below provides the price per license ONLY, which is the right the use the software program. The license fee DOES NOT include the installation CD/DVD. The CD/DVD price is $25.00 per set. For certain products, the ITS Site License Loan CD is available for you to borrow and use for the installation, but highly we encourage you to purchase your own CD/DVD set for any future re-installations.

Software Assurance (SA):

SA is a "maintenance" program for the licenses that you purchase under this program. SA is an additional cost to the initial license purchase, but provides access to new versions of licensed software from the day of purchase until the end of the 3 year cycle under UH's Microsoft contract (ending November 30, 2014). If you are interested in purchasing SA with your licenses, please contact the ITS Site License Office by calling (808) 956-5783 for pricing.

Downgrade Option:

Under this licensing program, departments must purchase the most current version of the software but have the flexibility to use a older version of the same software if needed. This is called the downgrade rule. For example, if you are not ready to use Office 2013 and prefer to use Office 2010 or 2007 instead, you may purchase the Office 2013 license and indicate on your payment, which version (Office 2010, etc.) you want to use in its place (see Step#3 in the Ordering Instructions). The ITS Site License Office will provide you with the corresponding installation/activation key (if needed).

The benefit of this option is when you are ready to move up to MS Office 2013, you can contact the ITS site license office and "exchange" your previous Office keycode for the 2013 activation key. You are required to uninstall the previous version of Office that was used before installing the Office 2013 software.

Note: This downgrade rule only applies to MS licenses and DOES NOT apply towards purchased CD/DVD.
