The University of Hawaii has a established a licensing contract with IBM
SPSS, to allow UH Departments and individual faculty/staff (with a
valid UH ID) to purchase an annual license for the use of the SPSS
statistical modules at a cost substantially discounted from commercial
prices.
The user is purchasing the "right to use" the software for a
the duration of the current UH Fiscal Year beginning July 1st through June
30th of the following year, and prices are not prorated.
Any SPSS updates or new versions that are released during the licensed
period are made available at no additional cost to the licensed user. The
user must sign an agreement stating the terms and conditions of the "right
to use" license at the time of purchase. The "right to use" license is
assigned to one particular computer and can only be used for University of
Hawaii educational statistical data processing purposes. If the annual
renewal fee is not purchased, the "right to use" license will time out
and the user is required to delete all copies of the SPSS software.
AS OF 7/2008: STUDENT LICENSES are no
longer available through the UH ITS Site License Office due to a change
by SPSS. Students have the option of purchasing the SPSS Grad
Pack from the UH Bookstore,
www.e-academy.com, or you can create your own GradPack by contacting
SPSS Sales.

- After ITS receives your order and processes your payment, the
requisitioner will receive an email message confirming the payment
number, license(s) ordered and the availability of the loan software.
At this time, you must contact the site
license office to schedule a pick up appointment to pick up loan
software. Please note, that obtaining your software is determined
by first come, first served basis. Licenses and software ordered from
the Neighbor Islands/off-campus can be sent via Certified Mail.
