About Us
Located in Honolulu, Hawaii, the SLA-ASIS&T Student Chapter is part of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Library and Information Science Department. Our primary focus is to explore Special Libraries in the state of Hawai'i as well as learn how Information Technology can better benefit the library system.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to expose students to specialized libraries and emerging technologies. We want to provide students with a relaxed environment to explore technology with others who come into the program with little more than a basic knowledge of computing technology and graduate with a strong understanding of skills that will give students a tremendous advantage when students start their careers.
Goal:
To this end we arrange tours in professional settings and invite guest speakers to present on these topics.
