Arja Piirainen-Marsh 
University of Jyväskylä
Professor Piirainen-Marsh’s research fields include Applied Linguistics, Pragmatics and Conversation Analysis. Her main research interests center on language, social interaction and embodied conduct in second language, lingua franca and multilingual settings. Her current work focuses on peer interaction in the context of classrooms and video gaming activities. She has been professor of English at the Department of Languages, University of Jyväskylä, since 2001.
Angelika Werner
Dokkyo University, Tokyo (Japan)
Dr Werner’s field of research is in Pragmalinguistics and Language Comparison applied for Second Language Learning. Her current project is on developing the concept of language mediation as a key component in the Common European Framework of Reference with special relevance for Teaching German as a Foreign Language to students in Japan.
She has been a faculty member of Dokkyo University since 2000.

Junli Ge 
Zhejiang University of Technology, China
Prof. Ge’s research involves sociolinguistics (language and identity, code switching, discourse analysis), applied linguistics (second language acquisition, multiliteracies, multimodal analysis) and cross-cultural communication (verbal and nonverbal communication). Currently, her main research interests center on new urban migrants’ language contact and identity construction in the context of urbanization in China. She has been a faculty member at Zhejiang University of Technology since 1998.
Miao Yu 
Sichuan University, China
Dr Yu’s main research interests include the interaction between social psychology and applied linguistics, as manifested in the ongoing research area concerning Willingness to Communicate (WTC) in foreign language learning, English teacher development, and tasked-based classroom discourse studies. She has been a faculty member at Sichuan University since 2009.
