UH Manoa Smoking Cessation Program

Program participants can choose between the following two options.
  1. Participate in the Smoking Cessation Program at Center for Substance Abuse which will include:
    • Individual counseling (3 to 6 sessions), if needed use of nicotine replacement therapy (University Health Services pharmacy carries gum and patches), or group counseling (3 to 6 sessions).
    • Be offered supportive services (on and off campus)
    • For refractive cases, referral to a more intensive off-campus program will be suggested
    • There is no charge for students who participate in the Manoa campus cessation program. The fee for staff and faculty will be $10 per session.
    • Nicotine replacement options will be offered. The fee for the service may be determined on a case by case basis depending on health insurance.

  2. Choose an off campus clinic program. Dr. Taleff will provide a list of current off campus programs and help each individual to choose the most appropriate off campus program for their needs.

All information regarding participation in the program will remain confidential.
