This course is designed to prepare students for law and regulation topics that appear in various areas of the CPA exam and also deal with areas that accountants face in daily practice. Topics include: Contracts Formation & Validation; Contracts Enforcement and Remedies; Agency law ;Sole Proprietorships and Partnerships; Non-Corporate Liability Entities; Corporations ; Real Property and Insurance; Negotiable Instruments; Sales under the UCC; Secured Transactions; Debtor-Creditor Relations; Government Regulation of Business, and AICPA Ethics. Students are expected to understand legal concepts and the application of these concepts that underlie the accounting issues pertaining to typical client assignments.
