ACC 609 Advanced Accounting Information Systems (3)
The development, implementation and operation of enterprise-wide resource planning systems, with an emphasis on implications to accounting information. Also covers current and emerging issues relating to accounting information systems.

A minimum of at least C- or better is required
Subjects:
- Structure, control and purposes of contemporary AIS
- Advanced system design and analysis tools, integrating accounting and computer controls
- Significant hands-on experience with at least one of the following enterprise resource planning software packages: SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edward, and Great Plains
- Evaluate the hardware and software requirements of a business and design an information system to meet the client's requirements
- Application of AIS techniques to a variety of decision making scenarios
- Study of current issues and techniques in the information technology fields, with emphasis on design, control and security issues related to accounting information systems of organizations
- Skills to adapt to change in the IT environment
