In memory of
Dr. Donald Corbin
1920 - 2008

Dr. Don Corbin received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and became the Emeritus professor of accounting after he retired. He was recognized by the National Association of Accountants, Committee on Economic Development (CED), and the School of Accountancy of University of Hawaii for his valuable contributions to the accounting profession and education. He wrote over five books and his articles are published in journals such as the Accounting Review (eight articles), Journal of Finance, the Journal of Political Economy, ABACUS, Management Accounting, the Journal of Accountancy, and the CPA journal.

Dr. Corbin was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi, American Accounting Association, National Association of Accountants, and Hawaii Society of CPA’s.

 Donald A. Corbin Distinguished Professorship in Accounting: Partners from top accounting firms in Hawai'i join Donald Corbin (Pictured front row center) at the Pacific Club to celebrate reaching the minimum $500,000 toward the first Distinguished Professorship in Accounting. Hawaii's accounting firms, alumni, and the Corbins made contributions to establish the fund.
