Background

I graduated from Bentley College, Waltham, Mass. in 1982 with a B.S. in Accountancy. After graduation, I returned home to work as an auditor for KPMG LLP (fka Peat Marwick CPAs) from 1982 to 1986. I worked with manufacturing, construction, retailing, property management and government clients. In 1986, I applied for and was awarded a Certified Public Accountant license from the State of Hawaii.

Also in 1986, I resigned from KPMG to pursue a career as Internal Auditor with the Estate of James Campbell. In 1988, I transferred from Internal Audit to Real Estate Operations. After seven years with the Estate of James Campbell, I changed careers by accepting the Tax Administrator position at Kamehameha Schools. In 2000, I transferred from the Tax Department to Internal Audit.

In the summer of 1992, I successfully completed the University of Hawaii's Executive Master of Business Administration program. Also, in the summer of 1992, I received an International Management Curriculum Certificate from the University of Hawaii's Pacific Asian Management Institute.
