American Communication Association

ACA is a national professional organization for those interested in the field of communication studies.

American Forensic Association

AFA is "the professional organization of educators and researchers in argumentation and public advocacy."

Broadcast Education Association

BEA is a professional association for those interested in the electronic media, telecommunications, and multimedia enterprises.

Center for Nonverbal Studies

CNS's "mission is to advance the study of human communication in all its forms apart from language . . . [and] to promote the scientific study of nonverbal communication, which includes body movement, gesture, facial expression, adornment and fashion, architecture, mass media, and consumer-product design."

Central States Communication Association

CSCA's mission "is to unite those persons in the Central States area with an academic or professional interest in all disciplines of communication in all educational levels, for the promotion of their mutual interests and the advancement of their common field."

 

Communication Association of Japan

The CAJ is an association of scholars, researchers, practitioners and educators in Japan in the communication field as well as from cognate disciplines who have an interest in human communicative interaction.

Eastern Communication Association

ECA is a regional association whose purpose is similar to that of NCA. SSCA gathers its membership primarily from the eastern United States.

International Communication Association

ICA is an international professional organization designed to bring together scholars and professionals from around the world who are interested in the study of human communication, primarily from a social scientific perspective.

International Listening Association

ILA "is a professional organization whose members are dedicated to learning more about the impact that listening has on all human activity."

International Network On Personal Relationships

INPR is "an interdisciplinary organization of academics and practitioners dedicated to understanding the complexities of personal relationships."

International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships

ISSPR "is a non-profit organization of professionals interested in all aspects of personal relationships."

International Speech Communication Association

ISCA promotes "international speech communication , science and technology."

National Communication Association

NCA, formerly the Speech Communication Association (SCA), is a national professional organization whose purpose is "to promote study, criticism, research, teaching, and application of the artistic, humanistic, and scientific principles of communication."

National Forensics Association

NFA "is an intercollegiate forensics association devoted to individual events and Lincoln-Douglas debate."

Southern States Communication Association

SSCA is a regional association whose purpose is similar to that of NCA. SSCA gathers its membership primarily from the southern United States.

 

Pacific and Asian Communication Association

"PACA, a non-profit corporation, was founded March 1, 1995 as an educational, scientific and literary association to promote the study, criticism, research, teaching, and application of the artistic, humanistic, and social scientific principles of communication."

Western States Communication Association

WSCA is a regional association whose purpose is similar to that of NCA. WSCA gathers its membership primarily from the western United States.

 

World Communication Association

"WCA members are professionals around the world who are interested in the study, teaching and/or practice of communication."
