Indicator: Email Messages Processed

Description:

Daily average number of incoming and outgoing email processed by the @hawaii.edu email server.

Assumptions:

For consistency with past practices in data collection and reporting, only Monday through Friday data is collected and reported. All enqueued messages are reported, even those discovered to be infected and automatically deleted from the message queue.

Indicator: Hits on Hosted Web Pages

Description:

Pages served by the main UH web server, www.hawaii.edu, to the Internet community, including the UH community.

Assumptions:

Each page, including all of its content and graphics, count as one hit each time the page is accessed.

Indicator: Network Utilization

Description:

Trend graph of network bandwidth utilized during peak periods.

External utilization includes links to networks external to the UHNet. This includes connections to the Internet, Internet2 research network, and to local ISPs via the Hawaii Internet eXchange.

UHNet utilization includes aggregate network bandwidth utilized during peak periods for UH System campuses. This includes traffic between campuses as well as to external UHNet networks.

Manoa campus utilization includes aggregate network bandwidth utilized during peak periods from Manoa Building networks

Assumptions:

Based on the maximum in or out bandwidth averaged every 2 hours. Devices are polled every 5 minutes. Bandwidth measured in bits per second. Actual peak utilization is always higher than shown because the data is averaged over a period of time.

Indicator: IT Enhanced Classes

Description:

Number of University of Hawaii credit classes enhanced by technology.

Assumptions:

Classes include those using interactive TV, cable access, and the web. It does not include courses which only use email as most university courses now use email as part of the general class communication.

Indicator: Administrative System Transactions

Description:

Raw ADABAS and Oracle transaction counts.

Assumptions:

Raw database updates provides an indication of the volume of transations processed.
