The Bachelors of Social Work Program

The University of Hawaiʻi confers a bachelor of social work (BSW) degree on undergraduate students who have majored in social work and completed all the academic requirements of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. This program involves a two-year course of study beginning in the junior year. It combines both academic course work and field practicum.

Aloha! My name is Puna and I am currently a graduate student. I am part of the Masters of Public Health program, specializing in Epidemiology. I became a Mānoa Peer Advisor because it is a way for me to give back to my community. I know that one day the students I advise will become great leaders. I enjoy being able to make students feel comfortable about where their college career is heading. Looking forward to working with all of you.

Hi! My name is Malia Infiel and I’m currently a junior in the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work. When I am not working as peer advisor, I like to stay involved with American Association of University Women Students at Manoa and volunteer at the Palama Settlement Outreach Program. Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and two sons engaging in various community events, going to the beach, camping, and the occasional hike. As for my schedule for the Fall 2015, I will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-2:00pm and Fridays 1:00pm to 4:00pm. I look forward to meeting you all soon!
