The problem solution nicely illustrates the simplicity in starting a solution. It is typical of problems that solving the problem is a straight forward application of basic concepts. The result often requires use of more advanced mathematics. In this problem basic tools consisting of the Pythagorian theorem, right triangles and similiar triangles were used to obtain the result. The result involves a quartic equation. This is apt to be less familiar requiring an extension of ones knowledge.
