UH OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY STAFF
Dr. Bruce Justin Miller is the Director of the UH Office of Sustainability. Previously, he was the Director of Extension for the Hawaii Sea Grant College Program for 22 years, and includes among his accomplishments the authorship of a legislative bill that made Hawaii the first state in the nation to ban the use of CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons). Dr. Miller has worked consistently both locally and nationally for environmental and social change, and was given the Environmental Hero Award by NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) in 1999.

Linda Anne Santoki Day is the Communications Coordinator for the UH Office of Sustainability. She has been involved professionally and personally in ecological and human health issues for much of her life, using her degree in Journalism to inform the community about environmentally and socially beneficial projects and organizations throughout Hawaii. She was the statewide co-coordinator of the year-long 20th anniversary celebration of Earth Day in 1990, and has served on the boards and committees of several non-profit organizations.
