Technical Checklist

You'll need these basic items to get started with using Laulima:

• Hardware - Full access is available via most desktop or notebook computers. Limited access is possible through smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices (mobile technologies not recommended for graded work).

• Internet connection - Broadband is recommmended; a wired connection is recommended during a test or when submitting work.

• Recent browser - Most browsers should work but Firefox ESR has been found to be the most compatible.

• UH username and password - These are the same items you would use to register for courses at MyUH. Sign up for one or verify yours here.

• Plugins - These are software components that enable you to view certain content through your browser (Note: content varies between courses, so some courses may need additional plugins; check with your instructor if in doubt.)

  Some common plugins:

  • PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader)
  • QuickTime Player
  • Windows Media Player
  • Java
  • Adobe Flash
  • Adobe Shockwave
  • Real Player
