Renaming, Rearranging, Deleting and Hiding Tools:
The Laulima "Tool Order" function found in Site Info enables the instructor to rename a tool, rearrange its placement in the list on the left-hand side of the screen, delete tools that are not being used, hide them from student view, and lock them to prevent students from accessing a tool's content via links.

To Begin:
1. Log into Laulima (https://laulima.hawaii.edu) then select a course in which you would like to edit the tools used. Go to Site Info in the course and click on the "Tool Order" button.

Note: Deleting a tool has the same affect as removing a tool using the Manage Tools option in Site Info. It will remove the tool from the menu and deactivate it in the site, but it will not delete any content that exists within the tool.

Hiding Tools

1. When viewing the list of tools, a tool can be hidden from student view by clicking on the gear icon in the box for the tool then clicking on "Make Tool invisible to Students" on the drop down menu. For example, if you would like to keep files in Resources but do not want students view any of the files in it, you can hide the tool completely from student view.

2. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the page to save the change.

3. The tool will be greyed out on the left-hand menu and a "hidden" icon will appear in the tool's box on the Tool Order list.

Note: Hiding a tool from students allows them to access the tool's content from other areas of the site, although they do not see the tool listed in the left-hand tool menu. Locking access to a tool disables it for student use. Students will not see it in the menu, and they will not be able to access the tool's content from other areas of the site.

To lock access to a tool, click on the gear icon in the box for the tool then click on "Lock Access to this Tool" on the drop down menu.
