Editing a question to insert an image:
When transferring quizzes from WebCT to Laulima, images are not copied over, one must edit the question and insert the image using the HTML editor within Laulima's Tests & Quizzes Tool.
Process: verify the name of the path to the image file in the WebCT quiz, confirm the image was uploaded to Resources in Laulima (when transferring quizzes we typically will upload the images used OR you can email us and request to have the images brought over), edit the question in Laulima, insert the image and save.
1. First, lets confirm the path or location of the image file in WebCT is located. Log into your WebCT course, go to your Quiz List (where your quizzes are stored), click on the quiz title that contains the image and click on the question title.
2. Confirm what the "path" and title of the image file is. For example in the following screen shot the image file is currently stored in a folder called "ims_import_4", inside a sub-folder called "ims_import", another sub-folder called "resources" and then the actual file name is "f1r2-1.png".
3. Second, confirm you have these same folders/sub-folders and image file transferred to your Laulima Resources area (go to Laulima, click on your course and select "Resources" from the Course Menu. In the following example, the folder/sub-folders and the image file already was transferred to the Resources area. If you DO NOT see the image or folders you can email us at itech-l@hawaii.edu and request to have your quiz images transferred over for you.
4. Third, since I now know the image is indeed in Resources, I can now go to Tests & Quizzes, click on the test which I would like to insert the image into and proceed to edit the question.
5. To edit the actual question and insert the image, click "Edit" which is located over to the right of the question.
6. Turn on the HTML editor by clicking on the link for "Show/Hide Rich-Text Editor". If you do not see this as an option make sure to use Mozilla Firefox.
7. Fourth, now insert the image by using the editor's menu and selecting the icon for insert image (yellow background with a moon and mountains).
8. Click the button for "Browse Server".
10. Click OK.
11. The image has now been added to the question, scroll down and click Save. Continue with this process till all image files have been inserted into your test questions.
