| DESCRIPTION: | 5/13/08 Affected platforms: Windows and Macintosh On Feb. 7, 20008, critical vulnerabilities in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 8.1.1 and earlier were identified. The vulnerabilities could allow a hacker to gain remote control of the affected system. Security updates for only Acrobat 8 and Adobe Reader 8 were released at that time. On May 6, Adobe released Acrobat 7.1.0 to fix the security issues in Acrobat 7. To update your software, launch your software and go to Help --> Check for Updates. Please ensure that your Adobe Reader and Acrobat software is updated to the versions recommended by Adobe: Adobe Reader 7 and 8 users --> update to Adobe Reader 8.1.2 Acrobat 8 users --> update to Acrobat 8.1.2 Acrobat 7 users --> update to Acrobat 7.1.0 Adobe Reader 7.0 through 7.0.9 users, who cannot upgrade to Reader 8.1.2, should upgrade to Reader 7.1.0.
