DESCRIPTION: If you are using a Mac to access Banner, you may disregard this message. For those of you who are using a PC, we recommend that you read the rest of this message and follow the instructions which are relevant to your situation.

Currently, a majority of you are accessing Banner using the address, This address utilizes the jinitiator software; however, the use of the jinitiator is being phased out and will no longer be supported. Some of you have already encountered problems with the jinitiator like your IE session closing when attempting to login to Banner.

As a result, we are instructing PC users to change to the address to access banner. This address requires you to install the Java Plug-in (jpi). The instructions detailing how to install the jpi via either IE or Firefox are available on the ITS website: for IE for Firefox

Sometime at the end of October or early November, the address will be converted to only utilize the jpi. We would like users to do the change over to the jpi beforehand, so that if problems or issues are encountered, your departmental IT person or the ITS Help Desk (956-8883, toll-free from the Neighbor Islands (800) 558-2669, or will be able to assist you in a timely fashion.
