DESCRIPTION: Due to a power outage this afternoon, we estimate 2000 telephones throughout various areas of the campus are out of service. An electrical transformer that provides power to the telephone switchroom located at Bilger Addition stopped working and needs to be repaired or replaced. A determination on a resolution will be made Friday morning.

UPDATE:02/10/2014 01:50 PM: Hawaiian Telcom has resolved the analog line card issues. All phone service has been restored.

If you are still experiencing problems with the phones, please report this to the Telecom User Services Office at extension 66033.
02/10/2014 08:10 AM: The phone switch at Bilger Addition has been restored but we are having problems with some of the analog line cards that support individual phone lines. Hawaiian Telcom technicians are working to resolve this problem.
02/09/2014 09:41 PM: Power has been restored to Bilger Addition. Hawaiian Telcom technicians are powering up the telephone batteries. Once the batteries reach their operating current, the PBX will be restored.
02/09/2014 05:54 PM: Power is still down at Bilger Addition. The electricians hope to get power restored some time this evening.
02/07/2014 08:11 PM: An electrical engineer has completed his assessment of the power situation and the earliest that power would be restored to Bilger Addition is tomorrow afternoon. Once power is restored, Hawaiian Telcom will power up the telephone batteries to be charged. This may take several hours for the batteries to reach their operating current. If all goes well, the telephone system at Bilger Addition could be back in operation by tomorrow evening.
