Auditions for Appalachia, Hawaii
Auditions for members of the UH Community are November 23, 24 at 4:30pm to 6:30pm in the men's dress.
Auditions for the public will be held Nov. 29 from 1pm - 3pm. Casting priority will be given to UH students.
Roles are available for 6 women and 4 men, ranging in age from 16 to 80. Pidgin and Appalachian dialects will be used. Performance dates are February 24 to 28, 2010 in the Earle Ernst Lab Theatre.
Written by Terri Large Madden as her thesis production for an MFA in Playwriting, the play is about a Caucasian military family with Appalachian roots whose sixteen year old daughter ends up "hanai" by the son of a local Pearl City family. The production will be directed by Tommy Barron.
