A. NO WORKSTATIONS CAN CONNECT TO STAFF MODULE ---------------------------------------------- A1. Check to see if any other staff module is working at your site. A2. Switch to WebVoyage and perform a search. A3. Call Systems (808-956-7853) or send email (assist@hawaii.edu) to report the problem. After hours, call Jerard Yagi, operations manager, at 277-3691. If no one answers, leave a message. Include your name, telephone number and library. Tell Systems which module is not functioning, and let them know which other modules are/are not working and whether you are able to perform a WebVoyage search. B. ONE WORKSTATION CANNOT CONNECT TO STAFF MODULE ------------------------------------------------- B1. Check to see if the problem module works on any other computer at your site. If the software works on one or more other computers... B2. Exit the module on the problem computer and restart the module. Perform some action requiring server response. If the module still does not function... B3. Check to see that the server IP address and ports in the 'voyager.ini' file are correct. Restart the module. If the module still does not function... B4. Shutdown Windows and restart your computer. If this does not solve the problem, call your local technical support office. C. CANNOT LOG INTO CATALOGING MODULE ------------------------------------ If you are connected to the Cataloging module and are disconnected, and you try to reconnect, you may not get the login screen, just an error that says something like "Cataloging not found in voyager.ini file." Reopening the module or rebooting the computer may not solve the problem if the server thinks the computer is still connected and is locking the connection to the computer's IP address. The connection should eventually time out, but you can try the following procedure. C1. Close Voyager Cataloging module. C2. Edit the 'voyager.ini' file in the Voyager directory on your hard drive using a text editor (Windows Notepad). C3. Go to the [Cataloging] stanza. If the port says 7010, change to 8010, or if 8010, change to 7010. Save changes to file. C4. Open up the Cataloging module and log on, then exit the module normally. C5. Open the 'voyager.ini' file again and edit the Cataloging port back to it's original number; then save file. C6. Open the Cataloging module to see if you can log in. If you cannot log in, call Systems (808-956-7853) or send email (assist@hawaii.edu) to report the problem. After hours, call Jerard Yagi, operations manager, at 277-3691. If no one answers, leave a message. Include your name, telephone number and library. D. PART OF A MODULE DOES NOT FUNCTION ------------------------------------- If only part of a module does not function, contact staff at another site to see if they are experiencing the same problem. If they are, contact Systems. If they are not, verify that the set up of the module on your computer is correct. If it is correct, contact Systems. Call Systems (808-956-7853) or send email (assist@hawaii.edu) to report the problem. After hours, call Jerard Yagi, operations manager, at 277-3691. If no one answers, leave a message.
