September 17: Agenda Minutes Chair's report: Procedures for selecting a new President A&S reorganization status and search for a new Dean Chancellor signed Charter Assessment office staffing PBRC dissolution report URC travel funding proposal Faculty housing report Chancellor Hinshaw gave a briefing on the budget Interim VCAA Quigley gave a briefing on the status of our WASC proposal October 15 (Faculty Congress): Agenda Minutes VC for Admin, Finance & Operations Kathy Cutshaw reported on budget cuts Assistant VC for Campus Services David Hafner reported on energy saving projects October 15: Agenda Minutes Chair's Report: VCAA search status URC faculty travel support fund status A&S reorganization transition team report SEC resolution that UH Presidential searches include substantial faculty representation. Passed unanimously. November 19: Agenda Minutes Chair's Report Presidential search committee includes two Manoa faculty A&S reorganization is moving forward with a new Dean possibly in place by summer 2009 PBRC dissolution discussion Cancer Research Center Hawaii director Dr. Vogel resigned and Dr. Carbone is the Interim Director CAPP Resolution on BBA/Major in Entrepreneurship passed with one abstention. CPM Resolution on Dossier Simplification passed unanimously after modification. CAPP Resolution on SLO inclusion on UHM-1 & UHM-2 forms was discussed and will be brought up at the December 10th meeting. December 10: Agenda Minutes Office of Research Services Presentation by Yaa-Yin Fong Chair's report: Process Committee Budget Committee A&S Reorganization VCAA Search Status Resolution on executive search process. Passed with modification. Resolution to Add SLOs to the UHM-1 & UHM-2 forms. A quorum was not present to vote. Progress report on PBRC Reorganization. January 21: Agenda Minutes Chair's report: Budget Working Group discussion Status of PBRC VCAA and President search update Resolution on Director Search for the Cancer Research Center Of Hawaii. Passed unanimously. Resolution to Establish a Standing Committee of the Faculty Senate: Manoa Assessment Committee (MAC). Passed with modifications. Resolution to Include Student Learning Outcomes onUHM-1 & UHM-2 Forms. Deferred to MAC. Resolution to Approve a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media. Passed. Faculty Senate response to the report of the Chancellor’s Process Committee. Senate moved to change the resolution to a motion and vote at the next meeting. February 18 (Faculty Congress): Agenda Minutes Donna Tanoue, former Regent and currently Chair, Presidential Search Advisory Committee gave the congress a report on the Presidential search process. Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw addressed the congress on the important issues facing the campus. February 18: Agenda Minutes Chair's report: Budget Workgroup report Process Committee report by Mary Tiles Motion on “Faculty Senate Response to the Chancellor’s Process Committee Report” was tabled. March 18: Agenda Minutes Chair's report: Up-date on Budget (Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw), and on Budget Workgroup (VC Kathy Cutshaw; Klaus Keil) Up-date on Meeting of SEC with Standing Committee Chairs, and April 29 “Retreat” of SEC and Standing Committee Chairs with Chancellor and the VCs Special Senate Resolution: Recognition of Charlotte Mitsutani, on the occasion of her retirement. Passes unanimously. CAPP: Resolution to Approve a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship. Passed. CPM: Resolution on Dossier Submission Process Clarification : Supporting Materials. Tabled until next meeting. CFS: Results of the 2009 Senate Elections Motion from the floor: Resolution on Required Procedures for Reorganization of a Research Unit. Put on agenda for the next meeting. April 15: Agenda Minutes Chair's report: Update on budget by Kathy Cutshaw Old Business Resolution on Process of Reorganization of UHM Units Passed unanimously. CPM Revised Dossier Clarification Resolution. Passed. New Business CFS Results of the Special Elections for Faculty Senators COA Report on the Academic Progress of UHM Student Athletes Peter Nicholson, Faculty Athletics Representative Jim Donovan, UHM Athletic Director May 6: Agenda Minutes Chair's Report and Closing Remarks Resolution to Approve the BS/Computer Engineering. Passed.
