Manoa Faculty Senate Agenda September 19, 2007
Wednesday September 19 at 3 pm in the Architecture Auditorium
1. Approval of Minutes of May 2, 2007.
2. Report on actions over the summer by the SEC on behalf of the Senate and other SEC activities by David Chin
3. Senate priorities for the coming year by David Chin
4. GEC motion for changes in GenEd (attached) by Jane Schoonmaker
5. CR Call for Feedback on the Draft Policy on Classified & Proprietary Research by Roy Wilkens.
6. SEC resolution on open records by David Chin:
- Whereas BOR meetings are subject to the State of Hawaii sunshine law
- Whereas even at informational meetings, opportunity for comment is provided
- Whereas no comments can be made on an item to be discussed if the public is denied access to the item
- Therefore the faculty of the University of Hawaii at Manoa request that the Regents respect not merely the letter but also the spirit of the sunshine law and make available documents necessary to be able to understand and offer comment on items to be discussed in public meetings.
