Manoa Faculty Senate Agenda November 14, 2007
The next Senate meeting is Wednesday 11/14 at 3 pm in the Architecture Auditorium. I expect this to be a brief meeting. Here is the agenda:
1. Approval of Minutes of October 17, 2007
2. Report by Chair David Chin
A. System Strategic Plan input, http://www.hawaii.edu/ovppp/uhplan/
B. HAP-focus multi-campus articulation agreement ready, http://www.hawaii.edu/gened/multicampus/multicampus.htm
C. GEC GenEd SLOs moving forward, http://www.hawaii.edu/gened/
D. Senate consultation on A&S reorganization, from Chancellor Hinshaw: "Hi! I know that you all have been hearing about and participating in our process to select the best organizational structure to establish Arts and Sciences as the vibrant heart of our University. I appreciate your input and perspectives greatly and hope you will continue to provide them as I work through all the issues. My intent is to raise and consider issues through this process to ensure that we develop the best proposal possible, recognizing that no structure is perfect.
I've heard some concern that this process will sidestep official consultation with the Faculty Senate and I want to assure you that is not the case. My deadline to determine a proposal is by the end of the semester, and I would then transmit a proposal to the Faculty Senate and any other governance groups for their review at that time."
3. CoR: Policy on Classified & Proprietary Research (final vote) by Roy Wilkens
4. New Business
Aloha,
David Chin
