Whereas the flood of October 30, 2004 caused major damage to the campus and some units have yet to fully recover, and
Whereas on March 31, 2006, heavy rainfall led to the Manoa Stream overflowing onto Woodlawn Avenue, the pathway of the October 30, 2004 flood, and
Whereas, we are unfamiliar with any efforts to prevent a repetition of the events of October 30, 2004,
Therefore, the Senate requests the Manoa Chancellor to report by the May 2006 meeting of the Manoa Senate on the lessons learned from the October 30, 2004 flood and to present the plan for preventing any future flood damage from the Manoa Stream.
