WHEREAS the faculty and students of Travel Industry Management are unanimous in their request to abolish the M.P.S. degree and replace it with an M.S. in Travel Industry Management and
WHEREAS the University of Hawaii is the last university in the United States to grant an M.P.S. degree in Travel Industry Management and
WHEREAS the proposed change to an M.S. has been reviewed by the Committee on Academic Planning and Policy and the arguments in its favor have been found convincing
Therefore, be it RESOLVED THAT the Faculty Senate supports the establishment of an M.S. in Travel Industry Management and the elimination of the existing M.P.S. (Master of Professional Studies) degree.
