Chairman Tom Schroeder convened the SEC at 3:00 p.m. with Uchida, Dator, Lukas, Hilgers, Ramsey and Bley-Vroman present. Also present were the following members of the new SEC: Martha Staff, Jim Tiles, Bill Lampe, and Denise Konan. At 4:30 p.m., the SEC moved to another room to meet with Chancellor Englert.
The minutes of May 2 were adopted after revision.
The Chair reported. He discussed civility on campus in the context of the UARC debate, whether McClain wants a Manoa chancellor, and going electronic in Senate elections. Bley-Vroman reported on a UCP meeting that he attended in lieu of Tom Schroeder.
Liaisons for Senate standing committees were discussed.
There was some discussion of "release time" for the members of the SEC, and other aspects of the Senate budget.
