  2. Updating the policy on elections to the graduate council.
  3. Changes in the BOR policy on department chairs.
  4. Reviewing and providing input on the biennium budget.
  5. Reorganization of UH Manoa per the Chancellor’s recommendations.  The committee agreed that the reorganization of Arts and Sciences may require considerable attention.
  6. Funding issues relating to UH West Oahu.
  7. Evaluation of the Chancellor.  The group agreed that faculty who had previously worked on this issue, specifically Robert Blye-Vroman, Barry Raleigh and ??Erikson, should be asked to continue to provide help on this matter.
  8. Review of facilities management and maintenance.
  9. Issues of space constraints and resource allocations of positions within departments and units.

John Caskin was nominated and elected Chair of the committee by acclamation

Shirley Daniel agreed to serve as secretary of the committee.

The group agreed to meet on the third Thursday of every month at 11 a.m. in Hawaii Hall 208.  This would set a tentative schedule of meetings on the following dates for the fall semester:

September 27, October 25, November 15 (in lieu of Thanksgiving), and December 13 (prior to semester break).

The meeting adjourned at 1 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Shirley J. Daniel
