BA in ACM - Tom Brislin of the Academy for Creative Media (ACM) updated us on the undergraduate program and answered questions concerning the proposed BA degree in ACM. Discussion centered on the following issues: differences between BA and BFA degrees, qualifications of the program faculty, career possibilities for graduates, advantages of offering the BA in ACM instead of the current BA Interdisciplinary Studies, and intellectual property rights of students and copyright issues. CAPP decided by consensus that Susan would draft a resolution supporting the proposal with caveats expressed concerning copyright issues.
Resolution on MFS Committee on Assessment – CAPP discussed the resolution and made several changes, specifically to limit voting membership to faculty representatives. It was asked that edits be forwarded to Lei immediately after the meeting. The edited resolution will be submitted to SEC for inclusion in the MFS agenda for the next meeting.
Resolution on SLOs –this resolution will be submitted to
the SEC for presentation at the next MFS meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at about 5 pm.
