Smith Amphitheatre

The Barbara Barnard Smith Ethnomusicology Wing & Amphitheatre includes classrooms, Pacific Dance Studio, Asian Dance Studio, gamelan room ensemble, tatami room, the World Music Instrument Collection, the World Music Archives, and offices.

The Barbara B. Smith Amphitheatre seats 200-300 and is the site of concerts by the UH Gamelan Ensemble, the UH Jazz Ensembles, and the end-of-semester Pau Hana performance by our beginning ethnic music and dance classes. Bring something to sit on (no beach chairs please) and be prepared for the occasional Manoa rain.
