Post-Baccalaureate Unclassified Student

Inadmissible students who are U.S. citizens may still enroll as POST-BACCALAUREATE UNCLASSIFIED (PBU) students through the Office of Admissions and Records, (not Graduate Admissions), and may work toward admission by taking for grade courses in the major field numbered 300 and above, including one or more 600-level courses. After taking 12 credits of such courses and maintaining a 3.0 average, the student may reapply. The PBU student should consult with area faculty members to see what procedures must be followed or what course-work must be completed to satisfy the area requirements. An application form and official transcripts showing a bachelor's degree or advanced degree earned at an accredited college or university are required to apply for PBU status. The deadlines for application are June 1st for entrance in the Fall semester and November 1st for the Spring semester. NOTE: International students are not eligible for PBU status.

Intended PBU students should submit their application to:

University of Hawai'i Office of Admissions and Records
Students Services Center, Rm. # QLCSS 001
