Mark Schubert
Trumpet
Mark Schubert graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music with honors where he studied trumpet with Armando Ghitalla. He joined the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra the Fall of 1976 and that same year was a co-founder of the Honolulu Brass (which is part of Chamber Music Hawaii). From 1976-82 he spent his summers in Mexico City where he was principal trumpet of the Filarmonica de las Americas. Mark has also performed with such organizations as the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, the Opera Company of Boston, Boston Ballet and the Robert Shaw Choral Institute. In addition he has performed solos with Chamber Music Hawaii, the Honolulu Symphony, the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, the Filarmonica de las Americas and radio and television broadcasts in Boston, Mexico City and Honolulu.
Mark teaches privately, at the University of Hawai`i, and is on the faculty of the Brevard Music Center, Brevard N.C. during the summer.
