Lesley Wright

Lesley Wright earned her Ph.D. at Princeton University (1981) and has been a faculty member at UH Manoa since 1984. During her career she has published widely, served as a department-level administrator for twenty years, taught a broad range of music courses, and lectured frequently in the community.

Dr. Wright's research interests include: Bizet, Massenet, Saint-Saëns and their generation; the music, institutions and press in nineteenth-century France; the posthumous reception history of Berlioz; the Exposition of 1900; and opera history.

She is currently working on the critical edition of Massenet's Werther for Bärenreiter and has just completed two essays on Massenet for publication in France.
