Music Scholarships
Music Department Scholarships are available for full-time music majors and non-majors who have shown strong commitment to the field. Incoming freshmen may also apply, and are considered music majors if they register for applied music (private lessons) and appropriate theory courses, and submit a completed declaration form.
Awards are generally based on academic achievement, musical accomplishment, and service to the department. They normally commence in the Fall semester and are paid in two installments, the second being dependent upon continued enrollment in the Spring semester and satisfactory academic progress.
To apply, an applicant must submit a completed original application form and four (4) copies by February 1 to:
Music Department Scholarship Committee2411 Dole Street
Honolulu, HI 96822
Note: there are different forms for continuing students, incoming undergraduate students, incoming graduate students, and transfer students who intend to be UHM music majors.
All applications are reviewed by the Music Department Scholarship Committee. Determination of each award is done by the committee.
