Net Impact Kickoff
The UH Net Impact Chapter is hosting its 2009 kickoff event.
Net Impact is a global organization of over 10,000 members, making it one of the most influential networks of students and professionals in existence today. The mission of the local chapter is to grow and support a community of leaders focused on making a positive environmental, social, and economic impact through the power of sustainable business. Our vision is to foster a new generation of business leaders who incorporate people, planet, and profits into decision-making and action to create a better world.
Net Impact maintains the following set of values:
• Community: incorporating a unified body of individuals with a common goal of enhancing humanity
• Sustainability: seeking to foster an environment focused on satisfying the triple bottom line (people, planet, and profits)
• Action: working towards quantifiable and measurable results
• Education: fostering knowledge, change, and action
• Volunteering: exemplifying the overall spirit of altruism
The Net Impact student organization operates with the following objectives:
• Advancing knowledge of sustainable and socially responsible business by way of education
• Encouraging and promoting sustainable business as a way to make a positive impact on the community through advocacy
• Taking action to create a better world through active participation
UH Net Impact runs several programs and events to achieve these objectives, such as facilitating pro-bono consulting work, undertaking green campus initiatives, organizing speaker events, sharing educational materials, sponsoring conferences and initiating the conversation with faculty to introduce a green curriculum.
