Empower Oahu - Waialua Community Kitchen   Spring 2009


Net Impact members set out to evaluate and recommend a plan of action to Empower Oahu to take over the assets of the Waialua Community Kitchen (WCK) and create marketing materials. The Waialua Community Kitchen is a shared-use commercial kitchen where local entrepreneurs, caterers, pushcart vendors, civic groups, and producers of specialty foods can manufacture their goods at an affordable rate. WCK provides the North Shore community a platform for sustainable social and economic development through microenterprise opportunities and related on-going support for area residents. Empower Oahu, a non-profit, island-wide governing entity designed to support the individual Community Implementation Groups (CIGs) as they further develop and implement their strategic community plans by addressing regional, inter-community, and island-wide issues, strategies, and concerns.

Tr3ees specializes in custom designing and producing sustainable, green, zero waste events and businesses in Hawaii. They help clients reduce the environmental impact of their operations and events, engage and educate the participants and surrounding community, and fulfill a mission for consumer and lifestyle change. Net Impact members developed a lean marketing plan including recommendations for their branding strategy, marketing mix and a specific target market in Hawaii.
