Events at UH Campuses for the Week of August 20-26

**Monday, August 21 Classes begin for fall semester, all campuses.

The Koa Gallery at Kapi`olani Community College presents its first show in newly-enlarged and renovated exhibition space. Digital Works 2000 consists of "inventive, captivating and fun to view computer design and animation projects created by more than forty students in New Media Arts at KCC. August 21-September 1. Gallery hours Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.; Saturday 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.; closed Sunday. Information at 734-9375.

UH Manoa Outreach College presents Fallen Angels, a 1995 neo-noir film fantasy with Leon Lai as a hit man with a passion for two women. Directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Won Kar-Wai, who won the Grand Prix du Technique at the Cannes International Film Festival this year for his new film, In the Mood for Love. Tuesday, August 22 at 1:30 p.m. with a repeat screening on Thursday, August 2, at 7:30 p.m. Yukiyoshi Room, Krauss Hall 012, UH Manoa. UH Manoa Andrews Outdoor Theater will be the open-air venue for a screening of two films on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:15 p.m. The Hawaii International Film Festival presents Grass, a humorous Canadian documentary on the evolution of marijuana use in America. A short Korean film, A Nursery Tale, will also be shown. $10, with some discounts available. Call 528-FILM (528-3456) ext. 19 for information.

Leeward Community College will be the site for screening of A Mau A Mau, a thought-provoking film by John Kaimikaua on pre-Ali`i Hawaiian governing councils. A talk-story session with the kumu hula will follow the film. Saturday, August 26, 7:00 p.m. Free. Information at 455-0385.
