Summer Commencement Exercises August 16

What Bachelor's and advanced degrees will be awarded in a single ceremony, expected to last approx. 90 minutes.

When Sunday, August 16, 9 a.m.

Where Stan Sheriff Center, UH Manoa

Who Candidates for

391 bachelor's degrees,

3 post-baccalaureate certificates in secondary education,

265 master's degrees,

1 medical doctor degree and

44 doctoral degrees (including PhD, EdD and DrPH)

are eligible to graduate, and

about 400 are expected to participate in the ceremony.

Speaker Ernest Nishizaki, vice president and general manager of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, will give the commencement address. Nishizaki, honored as a 1998 Distinguished Alumnus by the University of Hawai'i Alumni Association, was the first Hawai'i-born manager the Royal Hawaiian Hotel ever had and the first person inducted into the Hall of Honors of the UH School of Travel Industry Management.
