August 9­14: Big Island retreat aims to discover great teachers The Tenth Annual Hawai'i National Great Teachers Seminar brings secondary and post-secondary teachers together in a retreat where they can uncover the greatness within themselves. The nationally recognized Hawai'i retreat is part of a 30-year-old movement to help educators exchange innovative teaching strategies. About 60 teachers, mostly from the United States, participate in the seminar each year. Presented August 9­14 by Leeward Community College at Kilauea Military Camp, Volcano, Hawai'i.
