Liu Dong will lecture Dec. 9 on "Sex as Taboo in the Stereotyped Plays of the Cultural Revolution" Professor Liu Dong will deliver a lecture in Chinese on "Sex as Taboo in the Stereotyped Plays of the Cultural Revolution." Professor Liu Dong is visiting UH from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His lecture is of interest to a wide variety of people, as Professor Liu's discussion touches upon the fields of culture, gender, theater, history, and politics. This event, part of a continuing series of research seminars on China, is unique, as it is being given by a Chinese academic. The free seminar, sponsored by the UH Center for Chinese Studies, takes place at noon, Dec. 9, in the Tokioka Room (Moore Hall 319) at UH Manoa.
