UH Army ROTC holds Commissioning Ceremony The UH Army ROTC fall Commissioning Ceremony takes place Saturday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. in the Banyan Courtyard of the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki. The general public is welcome to attend and observe as cadets Dean C. Kai of Mililani, Kevin T. of Honolulu, and Romel C. Pajimula take their formal oath of commissioning to become 2nd Lieutenants in the United States Army. Brigadier General Edward L. Correa, Jr., commander of the Hawai'i Army National Guard, will be the keynote speaker. Photo Opportunity: The ceremony will include the time-honored tradition of the Silver Dollar Salute, where a brand new second lieutenant proudly hands a silver dollar to the first enlisted soldier who salutes him or her.
