UH curriculum expert returns from Japan next weekLinda Menton, associate professor of education at the University of Hawai'i, returns next week from her Keizai Koho Center Fellowship tour of Japan. Menton was one of only 16 North American educators chosen for this year's fellowship. She is a contributing author of a new social studies curriculum, Toro no Maki, scheduled to be published by the National Council for the Social Studies in Washington, DC. Both the fellowship and the new curriculum are aimed at improving teaching about contemporary Japan in U.S. social studies classes. Media representatives may contact Menton directly to arrange interviews about her travels or the curriculum project. A release from the Keizai Koho Center Fellowships program follows this page. |
