The International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium is scheduled to convene July 24-28 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. While not a University of Hawai`i event, UH Manoa researchers will be presenting papers: L.P. Flynn, et al., will present Hyperspectral Ground Truth Observations of Active Lava Flows and Real Time Thermal Remote Sensing of Volcanic Activity in Hawai`i. Assistant researcher John N. UH Manoa Outreach College continues its Okianawan Heritage series, this week presenting a public lecture, Okinawa and the Ryuku Islands: Past and Present, with Dr. Manabu Yokoyama. Free.
