UH Regents salute retiring Major General Calvin Lau Major General (MG) Calvin "Kelly" Lau was honored today at a Palm Circle, Fort Shafter, retirement ceremony highlighting his 36 years of service to the nation. Lau is a 1963 Distinguished Military Graduate of the University of Hawai'i Army ROTC program and also earned his bachelor of education and master of education degrees from UH. In his civilian job, MG Lau works as an information technology resource manager at the Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific Command, Pearl Harbor. His wife Lorraine is also a graduate of UH. Today's ceremony included the reading of a proclamation from the UH Board of Regents. The text follows: Dear Major General Lau: On behalf of my fellow Regents, we extend our warmest congratulations on this special day, celebrating your thirty-six years of dedicated service to our country. As a distinguished military graduate of the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior Army ROTC program, we take special pride in sharing your success and the Board sincerely appreciates your continued support of out Army ROTC Alumni Chapter throughout the years. You have and continue to serve as a positive role model for the cadets coming through our program today.
