Academics: Summer Session II Begins. Through August 4th, Monday, June 26.

Lecture: Playing With Pitch, Breath, Rhythm, and Lyric: Classical Indian Music, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, first recipient of a national award for "best musician of India under the age of 45." His lecture is complemented by vocal demonstration by Kaushiki Chakrabarty. Thursday, June 29, 2:00pm, Kuykendal 101. Chakrabarty will also perform An Evening of Classical Indian Music, Master vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty has performed throughout India and internationally, including a performance at Carnegie Hall in 1997. 7:30pm, Thursday, June 29, Honolulu Academy of Arts Theatre, $12 general; $10 Academy of Arts members/students/seniors, For tickets or more information, call the Academy of Arts at 532-8700.

College of Business Administration, University of Hawai`i at Manoa, "State-of-the-State" report on e-commerce trends in Hawai`i, Dr. Tung Bui, Professor of Global Business, and author of the e-commerce report, is organizing the seminar/workshop under the sponsorship of the State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) and the Matson Navigation Chair of Global Business at the College. Presenters at the sessions will include DEBDT Director Seiji Naya, representatives from the Hawai'i business community and other faculty members from the College of Business Administration. Thursday, June 29, at the Ala Moana Hotel. There is a seminar/workshop fee of $125 per person. The fee includes lunch, coffee, workshop materials and a copy of the e-commerce report.
